Frustrated Labs · red, fix, ship

Frustration-driven development.

TDD’s angrier cousin. For every problem we hit, we build a tool.

Pick your frustration

Every product here started as a failing test.

2 passing · 2 pending

Hyperbola

Apache-2.0 · in development

Fail: You want to leave an agent running overnight and still have a home folder in the morning.

Pending: Hyperbola is an open-source agent harness with the sandbox and permissions built into the kernel. Bring any model, even a local one.

Hyper Island

Notch app · beta

Fail: Your notch has one job: the camera.

Pass: Hyper Island gives it more: music, your next meeting, a file shelf, your clipboard and Claude Code’s permission prompts. 0.2% CPU at idle.

SessionDeck

Desktop app · 14-day trial

Fail: You find out about the weekly limit by hitting it.

Pass: SessionDeck puts every coding agent’s sessions, spend and limits on one deck, and warns you before you run out. 26 agents, read-only.

Belay

Desktop app · in design

Fail: Your agent ran git reset --hard, then apologised.

Pending: Belay versions every file you protect, .env included, so any change undoes in one click. If deletions spike, it pauses the agent.

03 · Hashbang

Every script starts with a curse.

The name came first

About · one person

Frustrated Labs is one developer. I picked the name in college, after the part of programming nobody demos: being stuck. FDD is how I get unstuck.

I design and build everything here. Agents just type faster than I do. When this site says “we”, that’s me and whichever one is open.

Some of it is open source. Some of it costs money. Both get the same tests.

Diwa

The rules of FDD

Open source or paid, every product follows them.

3 rules

No account. No analytics.

Nothing to sign up for. Every host a product talks to is listed on its page.

Nothing is deleted for good.

Deletes go to the bin, never /dev/null. Edits get a checkpoint first.

Measured, not guessed.

Every performance number here came from a benchmark, not a hunch.

Elsewhere in the lab

Open source, a small script, and two things in progress.
